Developing an engineering tool for Cyber-Physical Production Systems

Abstract Cyber-Physical Production Systems (CPPS) form the basis of next industrial revolution. However, many manufacturing companies are reluctant to adopt this disruptive technology due a lack know-how and high project risk. In paper, we present development design tool that addresses common challenges CPPS engineering, including complexity collaborative, multidisciplinary nature engineering process. The is based on combination existing emerging reference models, standards methods from software production automation Industry 4.0, embedded in new model collaborative for CPPS. paper describes foundational concepts tool, highlights its innovations, reports some insights gained during usage an scenario.
